THE JOURNEY
THE JOURNEY
Set out from Christchurch along the east coast, then travel through Oamaru and Dunedin into Fiordland. Staying in Te Anau gives Milford Sound its own full day out and back, instead of squeezing it into a rushed transfer. From there, the route opens into Queenstown and Wānaka before turning through the Mackenzie high country and alpine lakes toward Christchurch. Across nine days, coast, fjord, lakeside towns and mountain landscapes unfold at a more comfortable pace.
